Olsen’s Lacuna bi-fold doors are crafted with heat treated beech, the same material which was used to build the hulls on Viking long boats. This proven heat treating process of the beech makes it incredibly durable and resilient to twisting, warping or swelling. To this day when long boats are discovered at the bottom of the ocean it is often just the hulls which remain, a testament this incredibly durable solution.

These folding doors have been developed with the principle that a door should last a lifetime, built to last 50 years and beyond.

Extensively tested, these timber bi-fold doors are proven to not absorb moisture as is the case with many timber doors. This ensures that the door remains the same shape, size and weight as the day it was built, making the operation of opening and closing the door effortless throughout its life.

As well as the inherent high thermal performance of this bifold door solution, care has been taken to create a piece of furniture. The handles, hinges and running mechanism have been specifically designed for the Lacuna door, ensuring they are of matching design with identical profiles, lengths, diameters and finish.
