The lift & slide action of this door is operated by the door handle. When closed (handle pointing up) the door is lowered a few millimeters which compresses the weather-seals, and engages the door into 2 locking points around the frame, for high security and draught-proofing.

By turning the handle into the down position, the whole sliding leaf is raised up a few millimeters, releasing the seals and enabling the door to be slid effortlessly along the track.

An internal cylinder lock provides added security. There is a secure ventilation position, and the door can also be lowered at any point along its track to prevent it from moving whilst open by utilising its own weight.

Type F - 1 Matching; fixed panel

Type A - 2 Panels; 1 sliding and 1 fixed. Also available as a pocket door where sliding element slides along track into a wall (Type B).

Type A+F - 3 Panels; 1 sliding in middle and a fixed panel either side (made by connecting a Type A and a Type F single fixed panel)

Type C - 4 Panels; 2 center panels slide apart behind 2 outer fixed panels. Also available as a double pocket door with sliding sashes sliding into a wall at both ends (Type P)

Type M - 4 Panels; end 2 panels slide into center, giving an opening at each end

All Hajom products are externally beaded, and in most cases doors are supplied unglazed to site with glass supplied separate for site glazing, due to weight and handling purposes. Glass may be supplied alongside with the door or in some cases from a UK glass supplier.

As standard Hajom doors are 36mm triple-glazed units with 2 x soft, low-e coatings and argon gas filled cavities with a center-pane u-value of 0.7W/m2K.

Safety glass is always used in the form of either toughened or laminated glass for enhanced safety and security.

Glazing Bars

The Architect series has several types of glazing bars, some can be integrated with the frame, meaning more than one unit of glass is needed in a single sash.

Structural bars known as transoms (horizontal) or mullions (vertical) are used to separate 2 pieces of glass in either fixed or sliding sashes.

When dividing 2 pieces of glass the transom or mullion is either 78 or 98mm. When adding a transom or a mullion the split areas can be filled with both glazing and insulated panels.

Multiple transom and mullions can be built into 1 frame to create multiple pane effects to your design requirements, as can decorative glazing bars.

Alternatively slimmer decorative bars can be used creating the appearance of more than one unit of glass without the weakness that this creates.

Please note that it is recommended that doors supplied with decorative glazing bars are supplied with glazing fitted at the factory so you must ensure you have adequate handling equipment on site for these weights - please refer to your quotation for the weights of the units.

SAA (Satin Anodised aluminium) or Bronze anodised lever handles

Trickle vents to head of sliding sash

Secure ventilation position (standard)

Frames are supplied pre-assembled, and beautifully finished with a full factory coating from a wide range of stains or paints.

All timber is finished with a choice of a stains or paints. Paint choices are from the RAL Classic range (approx. 250 colours).

All paints and stains that are used are water based micro-porous products from Akzo-Nobel. Actual timber samples are sent out upon receipt of order to help assist in the correct colour choice for your project.

It is possible to have a 2 colour system with a different finish from inside to outside, meaning that a solid paint can be used externally and a clear lacquer could be used internally if you wanted to appreciate that natural beauty of the timber without any additional colouring

Aluminium cladding on the Hajom alu clad system is polyester powder coated (PPC) to a choice from the RAL Classic range (approx. 250 colours). As the frames are made up from two components it is standard to have 2 different finishes, i.e. one paint colour externally on the aluminium and a different colour, possibly a stain, internally. See below for a range of colours from Hajoms standard colour range
